Big Note Music Recognized as one of the Most Innovative Small Businesses

Big Note Music and Mobile Instrument Repair was recognized as one of the most innovative small businesses, by the Deluxe Corporation and The Small Business Revolution.  Hundreds of small businesses across the US were nominated and Big Note was one of four chosen to be honored.

The winning businesses were selected by Robert Herjavec, the “Shark Tank” star and entrepreneur, and a panel of experts from Deluxe. The nominees were judged on the following criteria:

  • Involvement in and impact on the local/regional community
  • Commitment to employees’ needs and well-being
  • Demonstrating a “personal touch”
  • Fulfilling a unique need in the marketplace
  • Inspiring others

With the assistance of the South Atlanta High School Band, Amanda Brinkman and Malcolm McRoberts, from Deluxe Corporation, and local news media, Jim Schmelzer was surprised with a presentation of a $25,000 award.  “I was completely surprised.  I thought this was a special event to honor the South Atlanta HS Band.  I am flattered and honored that our customers and community support our business and nominated us for this national honor.”
